Across more than six decades Ragheb Moftah recorded the entire corpus of Coptic Orthodox liturgical chant — building above all on the canonical repertory of cantor Mikhail El-Batanouny and later training cantors himself at the Higher Institute of Coptic Studies. His tapes, transcriptions and papers form the Ragheb Moftah Collection in the Music Division of the Library of Congress.
